About L4B Software
L4B Software develops secure, reliable operating-system platforms for embedded, regulated and mission-critical products. Our engineers work across embedded Linux, Android/AOSP, BSPs, cybersecurity, DevOps and system validation, helping customers build long-lifecycle products for industries including medical technology, automotive, industrial systems and other demanding environments.
We work close to the operating system, hardware and product architecture, solving complex platform challenges where reliability, security and maintainability matter.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux / Yocto BSP Engineer to develop and maintain Linux operating-system platforms for embedded and regulated products. You will work across Yocto, BSP integration, kernel configuration, bootloaders, hardware enablement and low-level system debugging. The focus is not simply board bring-up. You will help build maintainable operating-system platforms designed for long product lifecycles.
What you will do

- Create and maintain Yocto recipes, layers and machine configurations.
- Integrate vendor BSPs and SoC platform components.
- Perform board bring-up and hardware enablement.
- Configure, integrate and debug Linux kernels.
- Develop and maintain Device Tree configurations.
- Work with bootloaders such as U-Boot.
- Integrate and debug device drivers.
- Troubleshoot boot, kernel and hardware/software integration issues.
- Support secure boot and platform-hardening activities.
- Improve build reproducibility and release processes.
- Integrate platform builds with CI/CD infrastructure.
- Support system performance and startup-time optimization.
- Maintain patches and platform components across long product lifecycles.
- Collaborate with security, DevOps and validation teams.
What you bring
- Strong professional embedded Linux experience.
- Strong Yocto Project and BitBake experience.
- BSP integration experience.
- Linux kernel configuration and debugging.
- Device Tree experience.
- Bootloader experience.
- C/C++.
- Board bring-up experience.
- Strong Linux command-line and debugging skills.
- Git and software configuration-management experience.
Nice to have
- ARM64.
- Qualcomm, NXP, TI, Renesas or similar platforms.
- Secure boot.
- TPM or TEE.
- OTA and update systems.
- PREEMPT_RT or real-time Linux.
- Linux security hardening.
- Python or shell scripting.
- Experience with regulated product development.
What success looks like
You help turn vendor BSPs and low-level Linux components into reliable, reproducible and maintainable operating-system platforms.
Our hiring approach
We hire for capability, relevant experience and potential. If you meet most of the requirements and believe you can contribute to the role, we encourage you to apply. Equivalent practical experience is welcome where a formal degree is not essential to the work.
