Job Description:

About L4B Software

L4B Software develops secure, reliable operating-system platforms for embedded, regulated and mission-critical products. Our engineers work across embedded Linux, Android/AOSP, BSPs, cybersecurity, DevOps and system validation, helping customers build long-lifecycle products for industries including medical technology, automotive, industrial systems and other demanding environments.

We work close to the operating system, hardware and product architecture, solving complex platform challenges where reliability, security and maintainability matter.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Validation & QA Lead to own the verification and validation strategy for L4B's Android and Linux operating-system platforms. This is not a traditional manual QA role. You will define how complex embedded platforms are validated, how requirements translate into tests, what belongs in automated CI/CD versus physical hardware validation, and what evidence is required before a platform release is considered ready.

What you will do

  • Define verification and validation strategy for embedded Linux and Android platforms.
  • Build platform-level test plans from requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Define release-readiness and quality gates.
  • Establish requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Define regression-testing strategy.
  • Coordinate functional, integration, security and hardware-dependent testing.
  • Define which testing should run automatically in CI/CD and which requires physical devices.
  • Guide test automation using Python and suitable test frameworks.
  • Support Android CTS and VTS activities and platform-specific validation.
  • Coordinate Linux platform and BSP validation.
  • Define test coverage and identify validation gaps.
  • Establish structured defect-management and triage processes.
  • Review test results and determine release risk.
  • Produce clear validation evidence and reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement of reusable L4B test frameworks.
  • Mentor engineers performing verification and validation activities.

What you bring

  • Strong experience validating embedded systems, operating systems or complex software platforms.
  • Experience creating test strategies and test plans.
  • Strong understanding of integration and system testing.
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • Python and/or scripting experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD-driven testing.
  • Strong defect analysis and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Experience managing test evidence and traceability.
  • Ability to coordinate testing across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong technical communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Embedded Linux.
  • Android/AOSP.
  • CTS and VTS.
  • Robot Framework.
  • PyTest.
  • Jenkins or similar CI platforms.
  • HIL testing.
  • Hardware and device lab environments.
  • Jira, Xray or equivalent test-management tooling.
  • Automotive SPICE or ISO 26262.
  • IEC 62304 or medical-device software experience.
  • Cybersecurity validation.

What success looks like

You give L4B a clear answer to three questions for every platform release: What have we tested? What evidence do we have? Are we ready to release?

Our hiring approach

We hire for capability, relevant experience and potential. If you meet most of the requirements and believe you can contribute to the role, we encourage you to apply. Equivalent practical experience is welcome where a formal degree is not essential to the work.
